Going banana's!
I am writing to you all to let you know that you made my winter! I have been riding the same company for over 10 years, and this season it was time for a change. I was doing research when I came to your site and researched banana tech. When I finally rode my trs banana, I was hooked! Never have I ever ridden a board that has so much response, it is simply fluid! Thanks for going banana's!

B.C. Bananas
Hey Boys-
Good on ya once again! The banana has proven itself in the big mtns...its all I want to ride! Self surfacing nose, lightning quick edge response, and general soaring marks on fun factor. Holds great edge at speed and helps to keep from going over the bars on landings. And blown away how good it is on hardpack, wow, who would of thought? Would REALLY like to see a longer board with nana, actually think all your boards should be transformed (as maybe you do as well). For me personally, a TRS 67 with banana and magne will be the ultimate of boards, it will dominate the big mtns hands down.
Thanks for making snowboarding even more fun and keeping me stoked over the years!!
cheers-
Chris Ankeny

I think that Skate Banana is the best board ever.
Message: Hi there!
Have a look at some pictures attached and a couple of really good collages. To be honest, I think that Skate Banana is the best board ever. Just a little bit of history, this is my second season on a board and you can see my first attempts. Please do not criticize strongly saying that I can't do tricks, but ..still - even a simple jump on this board looks amazing!
Trying to find out my own board last year I had a feeling that Lib Tech boards is what I really want. TRS 167 is my first board (for freeride). My second board – Banana.
Alexander,
Russia
Good Luck.
P.S. Your boards are the best. Keep it up!!!

Bananas going for Dracula!!!
Martin and Jakob
Photo: Florent DUCASSE
Second week of January the TRS Banana crew - Jakob Wilhelmson & myself - Martin Cernik decided visit Dracula's land. I'm involved in the Heliboarding project over there, setting up together with Berghill.ro new heli operator in Fagaras Mountains, the nicest part of Carpatians. Mtns…We ad into crew another Bannana junkie Matus Hubka - Slovakian ripper and French toast Emeric Front, our buddy from Quiksilver team.
Cernik and Matus Hubka
Our trip started great, due bad weather landing in totally different city and spending 6 hours in the van to reach our final destination - Fagaras. Fagaras is located near bigger and very nice city called Sibiu, which is full of nice buildings, bars, drinks and ladies.
However our target was the beautiful white peaks and discovering some new lines. We stayed at the fish farm just bellow the mountains, in very nice and new hotel. The heli was parked just next to it, so the set up was perfect. There we've met with Austrian Alpine legend and great Big Mountain rider Martin Freinandemetz. Our crew was ready to rock the spot…Flying for 4 days, hitting unexplored terrains.
Matus
Photo: Florent DUCASSE
Every run was pretty much first descent, since there was never heliboarding before and believe it or not, The terrain is incredible. You can find mellow tourist runs, places to build jumps, cliffs and gnarly steeps. It is a good mix of NZ and AK in the middle of Europe and believe it or not, Nothing is better than using your banana in the backcountry to do first descent!!!

After on the down day, we went for cultural studies. We visited Dracula's castle, checked his bedroom…pretty sketchy, He must have been pretty small dude, coz the ceilings are very low. Otherwise the castle is super nice and it is for sale at the moment. We also went to check quality of local alcohol and bars..as the rest of eastern Europe it rock's - no ID bullshit, no security and drinking supervisors, everyone is just cruising and watching local hot chicks showing down some awesome dancing skills.

This trip was totally awesome - just everything went smooth and nice. I recommend this place to every rider with Passport, because it gives you memories never to be forgotten.

North West Regional Ripper Andy Bergin-Sperry seen banana blasting at this years Holy Oly Revival.
Name- Andy Bergin-Sperry
Age- 18
Hometown- Lakewood Washington
College- Central Washington University
Home mountain- Crystal/ Summit at Snoqualmie
Goofy or Reg- Goofy
Favorite trick- BS 180s
How was the Holy Oly this year?
Every year I have done Holy Oly it has been rad! Even though we didn't get to take pow turns into the QP like last year I definitely enjoyed the sun this year. This year was sick though with huge QP, Smiles, and everyone throwing down! And thanks to my parents and friends for coming out and checking out Holy Oly!
Photo: Ed Herbold
What are u learning about in college?
I am learning all that school whatnot... But more importantly I'm learning about this whole LIFE thing. The Dorms are an amazing experience, I love them but I can't wait to get a house or apartment next year. In the dorms you get hucked into the same building with every personality of person you can imagine and are forced to learn to live with them. I have learned how to keep the RA's away when taking care of your buddy who is puking there brains out in the bathroom haha. This year has been all about balance, It's hard to do the whole snowboarding thing and college at the same time but I'm figuring it out. There also is not any magic money machine aka parents to hook it up with that extra cash for little things. This year has been a roller coaster and college is sick!
What do u do in Ellensberg for fun?
Well its Ellensberg there is not a ton to do for fun but were making it rock. Lots of Nentendo 64 Mario cart and trying to stay out of trouble. We also got a pretty dope jib set up like 5 minutes from campus.
Any rad trips for the rest of this season?
I am road trippin to Northstar this month with a group of guys from central to Redbull's Snowarz for a college competition, I come back for like a week at school then hop on a plane down to Mammoth for the Peanut Butter Rail Jam finals. Whistler and Hood this summer. Get stoked!!
What Lib Board do you ride?
I am on a 156 Skate Banana for everything and a 154 TRS Banana for park.
Has banana technology elevated your snowboarding level?
Hell yeah! Banana technology is unreal! You just have so much control on a mag banana i love it. In the pow it floats like nothing elce and in the park you can just dull the crap out of your edges and still have a better edge then a normal sidecut. If you haven't got to try one you better hustle up and get on one. And its got a cool name!

Skate Banana props!
Message: Thank You Lib Tech! I've gone banana's over your "Skate Banana!" Incredible feel, easy to control, and most important, it's f**king fun to ride! Been snowboarding for about 8 years and have owned 5 boards throughout the years (Custom, Custom X, BMC, Timeless) and none of these boards compare to Lib Tech's Skate Banana! The Magne-Traction works awesome! Took this baby up to Stevens Pass where it dumped 20in of fresh pow everywhere. The Banana literally FLOATS in the powder and cuts through hard turns with ease. No more back leg burn while leaning back in the deep stuff, the banana rocker does the work for you. Finally we can start "SURFIN' ON THE SNOW!" "BECAUSE WE'RE NOT SKIING!" Thanks again Lib Tech. You guys f**king rock!

Skate Banana
My wife bought me a 159 skate banana for Christmas. I'm 36, 6' 1", 200lbs. and I just got back into riding about 5 years ago after taking a 7 year break. After getting back into it, I bought a Ride Prophet. Tail was too stiff, nose was too soft. I then bought a Lib Teck Emma Peel wide. Too soft overall. I then bought a 168 Ride Yukon. Too wide but I liked it overall. I just rode my skate banana for the first time with a 23" stance and rode it all day. I brought my other boards to the mountain just in case but never even looked at them. I rode in the park, in powder until it was gone and then on ice. The board just works. It's just right. I'm also really happy that it's made in the USA.
Sincerely,
Daryl

Hey dude, here are some banana pics from Canada!

Hey,
New years eve-eve, We drove from Big White to Red Mountain and the park director, Jordan had freshly painted the rails red. We helped put a few in and went out for some partying that night. Next day we go shredding and by lunch our boards are bleeding!!

Funny jokes were made and we went looking for powder. That one pic of the slash were there is some sun comin through Jack's armpit was about the only 5 minutes of sun we got that day, still epic pow.

We drove back to Biggie that night cause it was new years and went to a condo party. Don't remember the rest but shredding the next day was tough. So we went for some groomers and got an awesome method pic of myself and a few other weird shifty 180's. Fun, lazy first day of the year!!

Sincerely, Roman

By: Red Bull Nanshan Open
Beijing, China – It was full-out action here in The Nokia Nanshan Mellow Park as the top eleven rider’s from yesterday’s qualifier converged for combat. The park was fresh, the riders were stoked and the crowd was larger than ever before. Jakob Wilhelmson of Sweden took first on the podium of the 6th Red Bull Nanshan Open, earning himself his first Swatch TTR result of the season, and 700 Ranking Points.
Aside from a small amount of wind in the morning, the weather was great with blue skies and a spring-like temperature. The riders had a tough time in the Finals due to the conditions, causing an upset and knocking out our top pick for first, Freddy Austbo (NOR), in the first round.
It came down to four riders in the super finals where the wind was a little lighter and the competition was tight. Returning rider Jakob Wilhelmson (SWE) hit both big kickers in his first run with smooth 7’s and 5’s, going big and standing out for the judges. It was so close! No one could have predicted Marc Swoboda (AUT) would be the runner up. Marc’s run consisted of a BS 7 Japan and a FS 5. Third went to Atsuchi Ishikawa from Japan who was killing it all weekend. A returning to the Nanshan Open, Atsuchi took it to the park with huge switch FS 7’s and 9’s. So stoked to have our Asian brother on the podium! Jake Koia (NZE) followed in fourth position representing the southern hemisphere.
Three-time DMC Champion DJ Wordy was on the snow all day spinning his tunes for the crowd and getting the onlookers stoked. So much more excitement followed with a live punk show by national punk treasures SKO and Recycle on the Gibson stage. Free Red Bull flowed like water and good times were had by all. Thanks to everyone who came from near and far for the event and high fives to everyone who helped out.
The 6th Red Bull Nanshan Open is brought to you in part by Quiksilver and Gibson guitars. For more information on The 6th Red Bull Nanshan Open, please visit www.mellowparks.cn.
Also check out the TTR Video Player and Blog for updated content from The Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. The Tour moves to Laax, Switzerland next week for the SIX(6)STAR Burton European Open.

Banana love
Hey from Jackson Wy! I've been riding for NeverSummer for roughly 14 years. We were just blessed with 4 feet of snow in a 10 day spread. I managed to escape the morning lift line and kidnap a skate banana snowboard and now I'm participating in the new era and revolution you boyz have created. I love my Bananas!
Yo Mervin,
I was able to demo the Skate Banana at last years Baker LBS and totally loved it. I was so stoked in fact that I sold my last years TRS 159 (previous favorite board in the world) and Riders Choice 157.5, and picked up a new TRS Banana 159 and Skate Banana 156 from Sno Con this season. I got to tell you the Bananas are the greatest boards I have ever set foot on. I was down in Bachelor last week and just killed the pow on the TRS! And the Skate Banana is so sick for butters and boxes it ridiculous.
Here is my problem though- my wife is super bummed about me spackling the mountains with my Bananas while she is stuck on a regular board. Who do I have to bribe/beg/steal from to get her a Banana in the 146 to 148 size?
Thanks for making snowboarding funner than it already was!

Evil Camber is Dead, Sell your antiques while u can!
just when you thought "it can't get better than this"
everybody wants one (or ten). everyone that owns one is selling their old (& not so old) boards. trying to unload them before "everyone else" figures it out.
walking to the lift, on the lift, on the gondola, at the top binding in (you get the picture) ALWAYS someone asks me about my board. young & old. a single person or a group. ski instructors. skiers. EVERYONE.
but it's difficult to explain to someone...it actually can be better than that...really. it can.
thanks for making my world an even happier place.

Bananas

I just wanted to say thanks for building the best snowboard ever. I Demo'd a Banana at Brighton and then went to Salty Peaks and bought one later that night. I knew if I didn't every time I strapped in I would feel like riding a snowboard wasn't as much fun as it could be.

Banana
Dear Lib,
My name is Dusty Smith and I am a manager at Christy Sports in Telluride Colorado and just got my Banana. I just want to say that the Banana is the sickest board I have ever rode. I have been riding for 15 years and grew up in Washington I have always rode libs with the exception of a Never Summer or a K2 in there somewhere. Everyone I know is selling all there boards and only riding banana's. I am even selling my Mullet there are no need for quivers anymore. I ride alot of backcountry and can't believe the versatility of the board. I have been riding libs forever and it only seems right that Lib has pushed the bar to a level so high. I wish next year that we might see a longer version of the Banana, the TRS Banana is impossible to get. I was on the chair lift today and all four of us were on Banana's its the only board that I am afraid that I might get jumped for. Its hard to get and everyone wants it. I am addicted to the board and to LIb. I guess I am writing because I just got off the Banana 20 minutes ago and it has changed my life forever. IT IS THE SICKEST THING EVER.
Cheers

I have been rocking my 156 Skate Banana Snowbaord since opening weekend at A-basin and have been riding Keystone since they opened...
I was throwing down at Keystone's park setup on Spring Dipper this past Wednesday and people had nothing but questions or comments about the banana snowboard. Everyone wanted to know either how it rode or provide positive comments from when they had demoed it the previous year... So not only is it "The One and Only Quiver Killer", but it is quite the conversation starter.
On the quiver killer note, I currently own a xurton uninc 158, xome artifact 150, x2 www 151 and a xurton custom 154. My banana snowboard 156 totally blows all of them away. It is so poppy, buttery and the edge hold has been like no other. This thing is all around AWESOME! I haven't touched the edges since I bought it and it didn't snag when I boardslide a ribbed culvert at Keystone. It doesn't slide out on early Keystone ice and trust me I have laid down some hard edges on those ice patches just to put this banana snowboard to the test. The base is so fast that you need hardly any space between hits. So now am I looking at getting rid of all my other boards and possibly picking up the boxscratcher banana snowbaord if I can get a deal on one... What can I say I am stuck on the banana and everyone has banana envy... Some have asked if I thought riding the banana was cheating and I said NO, cause anyone can buy this thing... Go get a banana snowboard and experience TRUE GREATNESS under your feet! Like the others posting on this forum I have nothing to gain from posting here except to help the other consumers like myself out. If you have more questions hit me up at Keystone and I will do my best to answer...
For those worried about toe drag, weight and all that stuff... I am 5'9 162 with a size 10 boot... I rock a 23 inch stance set to 15 front and back. I haven't had any problem with toe drag and like I said I have put the nana to the test.
P.S. I am proud that my banana snowboard was built in the USA!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK at LIB-TECH!!! Thanks!!!

Banana MTX 159
Hey Matt,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I panicked and went and got Mountain Wave's last 59. Good shop by the way, don't normally buy stuff, since its mostly high retail, but the staff is very knowledgeable and enjoy geeking out on boards. Had my first day on it today at the basin. First thing I noticed was that it was super loose between edge to edge transition. I began to get a handle on this and really started liking it. I have a Salomon prospect 160 and 163, the 160 with a 24.8cm waist, and it up until the banana, has been the quickest edge to edge that I have ever ridden. So that part I really liked. I also noticed scarygood edgehold, especially at the apex of a turn when I had most of my weight loaded into the board. This combination of loose and crazyedge, I think will be nasty once I get dialed on the board. All that said, I bought this board for what I think it will do as a "freestyle pow board". Can't wait.
Well just babblin, had to geek out.
Thanks for your time,
Derek
P.S. A lot of curious people in the lift lines today, first truly different thing(well I guess except for MTX) that has happened in this industry.

Mikey Wier Getting Gnar on a Lib Tech Skate Banana

Local South Lake Lib Tech Ripper Mikey Wier gets gnarly in Big Mountain Snowboard Championship at Kirkwood and gets cover of RENO GAZETTE-JOURNAL!
Friends,
Kirkwood is gnarly. This week was the World Freeride Competition. I always like to go out for the comp and shred with all the hommies. Las year i was hurt this time of the year so i missed the comp. This time around i wanted some redemption. We snowboarders are just kind of a side show for the Skiing. The Skiers are really gnarly. It is the last US stop for the world tour, so all the heavy shreds show up. We snowboarders take it seriously, but just can't ride with the same speed as the two plankers. I think you can ride with more style though.
Mother Nature kicked down just in time. When we scouted out the venue and signed up on Monday, it was a coral reef of ice on the hill. As luck would have it, we got one of those nice little spring storms that come in late in the day and dumped all night. Come morning the clouds started to break and kirkwood had close to 20 inches of fluffy, white, fun maker. It takes patrol a while to clear the venue for snow safety, so we all got to freeride for a couple hours in the morning. I got to get into some of my favorite lines that i had been thinking about for a whole snowless month.
Kirkwood is still like early season. The conditions were kind of dangerous because there is low snow to begin with. It hadn't snowed in like over a month, and had been super warm, so allot of rock was exposed. The old snow had been really wet and froze before the storm, so the new light snow was sitting on ice. There are shark teeth under the snow everywhere in these conditions. To top it off, all the locals were in like a frenzy to finally get to ride some fresh snow, so the first few runs are like a Chinese down hill.
The morning started out perfect and blue, but by the time we all lined up at the top of the vista for our qualifying runs, the weather started rolling in again. I had a nice safe line picked out the day before, but with the new snow, some new possibilities had presented themselves. In years past i have come away from this event bummed on the judging. It's hard because some people just ride down a mellow line, but smooth, and get good scores and people who go huge, but buttcheck, get lower scores. They tell you it is and extreme comp, so i would figure you should be getting as gnarly as the terrain would allow. i though about just taking a nice clear and fast line off the top. Then i found a nice pocket of snow under a huge drop. I thought about it for a minute and looked at it really good. my usual call is "will i die if i do this?" I figured out there was a slight chance for death, due to some rocks in the fall line of the drop, but i figured if it went wrong i would most likely just hit rocks and get hurt. It wasn't the size of the drop that made me nervous, it was that you had to come off at a weird angle and then turn in the air, to land with the fall line of the hill there. If you didn't pull it, you were heading for some rocks. I spent the time we had to inspect the venue building a ramp off the lava rock. I kept going back and forth in my head. Should i do it. No it's too big for the condition, just keep in clean. No, i got it. No just go for the safe line and get a clean run score. Finally i figured that i was being a pussy and i should just go for it. I figured if i stick it, it could put me on top. If i crash, at least i went for it. A few of the other competitors came and looked over the edge and said, no way. as they scurried off. I said F it and went for it. I landed, but then washed out. The rest of my line was ok, but i crashed again when i came into an icy spot too fast.

I made the finals but was pretty far down the list. The Cirque it some of the Gnarliest terrain at any ski resort in North America. It is permanently closed to skiing at all times except for this event. The condition were too low to drop in from the usually spot at the very top of the venue, so we dropped from a place called drop in. Because of the low conditions, we only got to ride the chair ten side of the cirque. The lines under Carnnels drop, on the chair 4 side, were unskiiable this year. Day two was fun. the snow was still pretty rippable, but you had to watch for ice in the wind scoured spots. I had a super clean run in the cirque. Went super fast and had some clean drops, but it wasn't enough to crawl up to a podium spot after my low score form the first day. I hate judged events. It's really just me I'm competing against anyway, so i feel good about manning up to a drop that no one else went for.
Friday, a shot of me was on the front cover of the Reno Gazette Newspaper. I thought it was kind of cool, so i would share it with all of you.
Cheers,
Mikey

Sammy Luebke Dominates Holy Oly on a Skate Banana!

Lib Tech ripper, Sammy Luebke just won the Holy Oly Revival, dominating with sick full arm cast style.

The weather was classic NW style, the Holy Oly Summit at Snoqualmie crew blowin powder out of the runway.

Cory Grove AKA Cobra Dogs cooked over 350 wieners, Terry Parker loved them.

A little banana sauce for your Cobra Dog, and a first aid kit in case of any burns or blow outs.

Jesse Burtner jibbed the hell out of the new Jib section at the Holy Oly. Banana Tail

Jesse is no dummy, you could see him a mile away in blizzard conditions.
